I was on the lookout for a new broker/insurer due to my previous broker providing very bad customer service and not willing to offer me better rates. I turned to JEM since I live in the neighborhood and not only did they provide me with a better rate, they also took care of notifying my previous broker and insurer of the cancellation, and made sure I wasn't without home insurance during the switch. Bonni was very helpful and was quick to communicate the changes to me. Looking forward to having a new broker that's reliable and consistent.

The first time I went here a few months ago, the agents were fantastic. Responsive, knowledgeable and professional. This time was a completely different experience, so poor in fact that I genuinely would advise people to avoid this location. My partner and I went to register a vehicle we had purchased. We had the documents needed, along with (correct) information that vehicles certified as collectors do not need a valid COI, they simply need to be identified as a collector. The agent we spoke with clearly did not have any knowledge, as she turned away the bill of sale and transfer of ownership, and stated all vehicles need a COI. Clearly wrong, because the same day within that hour we took the same documents to the MPI location on King Edward. They not only verified that the bill of sale and transfer of ownership were valid, they also confirmed that the car would not need a COI (commonly called a safety), because it is a collector. When a vehicle is certified as a collector, a COI is not required as they do not fall in the same purview as other motor vehicles due to the nature of their build. For example, some vehicles build in the 1950’s would not have a working horn; but when they are driven only for collector purposes, this is not a concern.

Not only was the agent outright incorrect about both the bill of sale and transfer of ownership being valid, she was also incorrect about collector vehicle requirements. Moreover, she was unprofessional and rude and quickly disregarded us despite the fact that we were clearly much more knowledgeable about this particular subject.

I don’t know everything with regards to registering vehicles but it’s not difficult to refer to MPI’s website for information if you are unsure. I would prefer an agent that takes a few minutes to double check or verify information rather than assuming incorrect facts.

Knob and Tube, Sewer back up and overland water coverage. Dreaded by insurers. Days to secure even with brokers or straight via corporate offers- personal experience.
Even at rush- days to possession. The team at JEM -an actual GEM! Secured a well declared and well informed on both ends underwriter and customer to secure the best policy for you! Not the 1-800 numbers where you wait for 30 mins and more only to be told they will get back to you hours or days later. Email back and forth on questionnaires- That never seem to end and after all that, still at costly premium.
JEM staff are people you can actually talk to and they will call for your questions- dealt with on the spot. Due diligence is key address the underwriters concerns and the impossible are made possible. Appropriate Quotes in real time! Friendly and professional.
